The Irondale Ensemble Project is as close as we come these days to the Elizabethan acting companies that once presented Shakespeare’s plays to the Earl of Leicester, Sir Francis Drake and the Virgin Queen of England. ...What is on offer is the miracle of the word made flesh. I wish you joy in it.” —Lewis Lapham, editor of Lapham’s Quarterly

New! Junior Company

Open to 6th – 8th grade students
5th grade students by interview
Mondays from 4:00-6:00PM

Growing from the success of Irondale’s Young Company (an ensemble of teenagers), Junior Company members will have the opportunity to learn the same ensemble approach our adult and teen companies experience year round.

Students will learn the essentials of theatrical stage craft, including: character development, relationship building, improvisation, acting, movement and space work, design, playwriting, directing, and game play. Each session will culminate in a final project: tailored to the group’s interests and unique dynamics.

Sessions meet Mondays from 4:00 – 6:00PM for 9 classes. Students are encouraged to commit for the whole season.
