Celia Schaefer

Celia Schaefer is passionate about the practical applications of listening and empathy in professional communication. After six years leading improvisation and role-play workshops for business, service, and medical professionals in association with Peers and Players, AHA (Appel Hospitality Associates) and PATH (Professional Actors Teaching and Helping), she began working with the Alda Center for Communicating Science in 2016, broadening her audience to include scientists and science advocates.

In addition to her work as a communication workshop facilitator, Celia teaches improvisation and scene work for professional actors, and performs on stage, in films, and on television. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and an alumna of the Chicago City Limits Improv Touring Company.
