Cindy Rosenthal is Professor of Drama and Dance at Hofstra University where she teaches Acting, Directing, Dramatic Literature and Women’s Studies. New York and regional acting credits include Linked Dance Theatre, New Jersey Shakespeare, Boston Shakespeare and the Bread Loaf Acting Ensemble, where she is a founding member.
Recent roles include Margaret in Remembrance, The Countess in All’s Well, Emilia in Othello, and Jo in Blues for Mister Charlie. NY directing credits include George Brant’s Grounded with Maya Carter as The Pilot at Irondale (On Women Festival 2019) and the World Premiere of Isaac Rathbone’s The March of the Bonus Army at Cap 21. Her book Ellen Stewart Presents: Fifty Years of La MaMa Experimental Theatre received the 2017 George Freedley Award. She holds a PhD in Performance Studies from NYU/Tisch.
