Rent our Space for Your Event
Irondale is a wonderful place for a wedding, benefit, or any event. Our unique nineteenth century Sunday-school-turned-theater, is a beautiful venue. Theatrical and contemporary with a feel of the past, this historic room has a wrap-around balcony surrounded by stained glass windows.
Irondale is the perfect space for a ceremony and reception or just a reception. There is room to seat 200 guests at tables and still have room for a dance floor. The wrap-around balcony is the perfect place to serve cocktails after the ceremony and before dinner.
Irondale is located just 3 blocks from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and near stops for most subway lines and the Long Island Railroad. Let us help make your day special.
Irondale does not have a contract with any vendors, so you are welcome to use anyone you wish, though we do have recommendations if you are looking for them.

Our Exclusive Space
In 2008 Irondale renovated an unused nineteenth-century Sunday school and created one of the most flexible, versatile, and dynamic theatre spaces in New York City, right in the center of Fort Greene, Brooklyn. The 7,300 square foot performance space has flexible seating for up to 250 people, ceilings that are 28’ high and a 1,900 square foot balcony/gallery with a café area with the original stained glass windows. Our restoration preserved the original character scale and details of this distinctive space.
Featured in the New York Times for its production of alice… Alice… ALICE and EPIC Theater’s Production of Sarah Ruhl’s Passion Play, Irondale has hosted, presented or produced hundreds events since it opened. This is a one-of-a-kind theatrical venue; rich in history and atmosphere. The space itself offers inventive directors and designers a magnificent palette on which to set work.
Here are some of our space’s special features:
- 3700 sf. Performance space with a 28 ft. ceiling, and a 1900 sf. balcony on three sides
- More than 150 lighting instruments and corresponding equipment on a grid system
- 2 Dressing Rooms for artists (1 has full bath)
